The 4 cylinder Hupp engine runs good and has good oil pressure. 3 speed manual transmission. Other features include rear mounted spare tire, all chrome has been redone, radiator honeycomb was redone, headlights and electrical system work fine, has mechanical brakes, new convertible top and a professionally redone steering wheel.
Robert and Louis Hupp founded the Hupp Motor Car Corporation in 1908. Their first car was a 112 cubic inch 4 cylinder light runabout with two bucket seats. It sold for $750.00. I was joined in 1911 by a touring car that sold for $900.00. Sales were good and in 1913 the Hupp Bros. sold 12,000 cars and by 1925 when this car was built sales were 40,000. Like most American independent car makers, the Hupmobile was hard hit by the Depression. It never recovered closing plants in 1940
