John North Willys was an automobile dealer from Elmira, New York who joined with The Standard Wheel Co. He was involved in the Overland Co., Willys-Overland Co. and Willys-Knight Co. Edward Knight made a 4 cylinder and his company was purchased by John Willys to form Willys-Knight. Other Collector Cars tied to John Willys are the 1933 Willys 77 coupe, 1942 Willys Americar coupe and the 1949 Willys Jeepster touring car.
